The movie “The Princess Bride” is one of my favorites.  I mention it because when I was reading the book I am about to tell you about that movie kept coming into my consciousness.  Replete with male sacrifice, murder, damsels in distress, males receiving serious injury as a result of dedication and caring and on […]

The Sports Students as Mentors (for boys and young men) university qualification, established by boys’ education charity and Coalition member, Mengage, will launch at the University of Gloucestershire on December 4th.

The project – SSaMs for short – has taken the Mengage ‘Mentoring Male’ award and developed this into an undergraduate module for sports students, to provide them with skills to go into schools and mentor boys, focusing on their educational attainment and preventing early school leaving further downstream.

The qualification will also prepare mentors to provide support and advice on boys’ emotional and mental health concerns. The course has already run this year at University of Thessaly in Greece. Other countries involved have been Ireland, Spain, Italy and Czech Republic.

    When and where?

    December 4th 2019, 9.30 – 12.30

The University of Gloucestershire Oxstalls Campus, Business School Lecture Theatre

Fishing and boating are extremely popular. About 87 million adults, a lot of them probably dads, already enjoy recreational boating. That’s not even counting the 11.6 million kids who fish on a regular basis. Is your kid one of them? If fishing is a hobby that you and your kid enjoy together, here’s why you should connect with your kid and make time for a trip sooner rather than later.

Spending time in nature is healthy

Besides being so common, a fishing trip, whether on a boat or just sitting on a nearby dock, puts you in a unique situation to connect with your kid. Most of the time, you’ll be in an area where there’s no Wi-Fi, so you can kiss your iPhone goodbye for a few hours, at least. On top of that, fishing requires hands-on focus for longer periods of time, which means Twitter is off the table. And just like that, no phones means more time to have a real, face to face conversation. Wild. This is where you get to be a great dad. It’s the perfect opportunity to actually talk to your kid about their life.

Fishing also puts you smack in the middle of nature and lets you indulge in a hobby that you and your kid might not get to on a day to day basis. In today’s age, it seems to be the default for all of us to stay inside and get glued to social media. Sticking your head out the door and spending time outside is the best medicine for that disease. This is also a hobby that you and your kid have connected over before. Making the time to do this together again is important.

A chance to actually connect with your kid

When talking with your kid, it can be easy to resort to simple yes or no questions to keep the conversation going. However, playing 20 Questions is only harming the conversation. Whether you know it or not, surface-level questions are actually really annoying. Your kid won’t tell you because they might not know how, but it’s your job as a dad to see through that nonsense. Take it from Susan Smith Kuczmarski, Ed.D., the author of The Sacred Flight of the Teenager: A Parent’s Guide to Stepping Back and Letting Go. She says our kids “often find the questions we ask intrusive and annoying.”

Instead, ask open-ended questions about what your kid is passionate about. What makes them happiest? This gives your kid the opportunity to open up and share major things that are affecting their life.

A chance for you to flex your kid listening skills

Being a good listener is essential when you want to connect with your kid. You’re already doing something that they’re interested in. Great! Now, make sure you listen when they talk to you out here. If you keep interrupting or taking control of the conversation, your kid is going to shut you out. It’s also rude to interrupt.

By listening first, you’re allowing your kid to explore their thoughts freely, possibly coming to realizations that can only come when talking through things. As a father, it’s your job to help them through this experience, asking deeper questions or providing advice or anecdotes only when appropriate and when your kid has finished their thought.

It’s tough being a dad, but it pays off when you can have moments like this with your kids. Making the time to indulge in a hobby you both already love can make connecting with your kid that much easier, too. Social media and technology might make it seem like sunshine and rainbows for kids these days, but it opens up more opportunities for isolation than connection. Take the time to connect with your kid. Get into nature, go on a fishing trip, and remember why you both love to fish in the first place. When you take these opportunities to connect with your kid, you’ll always be reminded of how great it is to be a dad.

As a father, it feels pretty great watching your kid idolize you. As your child grows, they’ll love you more than anything in the world and even start imitating some of your mannerisms. If your kid is picking up on your sense of humor, taste in movies, and other traits — great. But if you notice your child highlighting some of your unhealthy habits — that’s where you need to be careful.

According to the Pew Research Center, 77% of Americans go online daily. Approximately 43% say they go online several times per day, while 26% say they’re online almost constantly.

Think about how often you’re on your phone, computer, or another device. Even if you think you’re hiding it well, your child is almost certainly aware of your tech habits. Are you constantly refreshing your fantasy football app? What about texting too much? If you’re on your device too much, your kids aren’t only noticing, they probably are developing those same habits. Nowadays, it’s virtually impossible to not rely on some form of technology in 24 hours, but too much tech consumption isn’t good for anyone — especially children. According to VeryWellFamily, excessive screen time has been linked to sleep problems, social issues, and increased aggression.

When both you and your children are engaged in whatever tech device is nearby, you’re both missing out on all kinds of important quality time. Phubbing — or “phone snubbing” — is a real term nowadays that means checking email, texting, social networking, etc. on a phone instead of being fully present with the person you’re spending time with. It’s time to put an end to your tech addiction and get back to being a great dad in the real world!

If you’re worried about your children relying on tech devices too much, consider some of the following tips:

    • Get involved with youth sports — Over 36 million kids in the U.S. play organized sports each year. If your kid falls in love with baseball, basketball, football, etc. — they will enjoy spending much more time playing and practicing rather than just wasting time with video games or tech devices. If you really want to impress your children, consider coaching!
    • Implement a week-long break from electronics — Consider going on a camping trip or a week in a remote cabin to help you and your children get away from tech devices. Stepping away from technology for a few days could renew everyone’s appreciation for family time and simple activities like playing catch.
    • Start using apps with built-in timers — Since tech addiction is such a serious issue, there are plenty of built-in timing restrictions that can help. Video streamers like Juvi and Cakey have internal timers but it’s just as important to hold yourself accountable. If you only want to scroll through Facebook for 5 minutes — only do so for 5 minutes. Your child will pick up on your commitment.
    • Build a tech-free play space — According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 40% of residential remodeling activity was minor additions and 30% was major additions. Whether you build an entire room or just a small corner, designating a tech-free area will encourage healthier activities for both you and your kids. Even setting limits on phone use at the dinner table can be helpful.
    • Discuss consequences and follow through — Taking a stern approach won’t always work, especially if your kids see you on your phone or another device. Instead, talk with them about the dangers of spending too much time online or tech addiction. If both you and your child can show restraint, then you can offer more flexibility.

Everyone once in a while, playing a video game or simply relaxing with your kids while on a device can be nice. But you cannot let this become a problem. Aren’t you grateful for your family? Show them. There is so much more to life than a bright, little screen. Put your phone down, get your kid to put the phone down, go outside, and have some real fun!

    Article here. Excerpt:

'Iowa State University researchers, including a top Title IX official, concluded that some “trauma-informed” interview techniques taught to administrators with Title IX duties “are at odds with the available science.”

Psychology professor Christian Meissner and philosophy lecturer Adrienne Lyles, also senior deputy Title IX coordinator, published their findings in the Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition. Lyles provided a copy to The College Fix.

It questions the scientific basis of common training tips, including that investigators can tell whether subjects are lying by their body language and that accusers and accused experience different neurobiological responses to the same event.

The duo also frowns on presenting evidence of guilt at the start of an interview with accused students and asking leading questions, which can worsen the memory of interview subjects.'

    Article here. Excerpt:

'The couple shared their story with Breitbart News, a harrowing tale about how their son became one of hundreds who have been accused of violating Title IX.

Their son is a victim of a federal law designed to prevent discrimination based on sex that morphed into a secretive process stacked against those accused of sexual misconduct following Barack Obama’s 2011 “Dear Colleague” letter from the Department of Education sent to educational institutions.

Charges of “dating violence” and sexual assault launched against their son by a former girlfriend while he was a student at Washington University in Missouri. The charges caused his eventual expulsion from the school — a decision made without due process, his parents said.

They also said a report from campus police who were called to the dorm room where their son and girlfriend were located found no evidence of physical violence.

It also eventually led to dashing the young man’s hope of having a career in the U.S. military because he was expelled from Reserve Officers’ Training Course (ROTC) and made to repay a college scholarship he received from the organization.'

‘I am not mad,’ shouts the failed suicide bomber in court, contradicting psychiatric opinion. For him, scriptural fiat cannot be overruled by secular authorities: if the holy Koran instructs slaying of the infidels, there is no mental illness, immorality or crime in putting those words into action.
The vast majority of Muslims, no doubt, would recoil at any interpretation of their faith as inherently violent. In polite society, Islam is promoted as the Religion of Peace, and terrorists are said to be besmirching the name of Mohammed, the Prophet of Islam.
Are Koranically-inspired terrorists mad or bad? It may seem delusional to detonate an explosive device in a crowded shopping mall and expect to be rewarded with seventy-two virgins in heaven.
Scott Atran in Talking to the Enemy (2010) argues that suicide bombers are not mentally ill. Perhaps, they are sad? Alienated from society, they identify strongly with a disadvantaged group, and develop an intense purpose against injustice, he observes.
A University of Amsterdam study shows little correlation between psychopathology and terrorism, even though the lone wolf may be slightly more likely to be disturbed.
Jonathan Sacks begins his book Not in God’s Name: Confronting Religious Violence with a quote from Blaise Pascal: ‘Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.’ Sacks strives to rebut this distortion of Abrahamic faith, arguing that mass murderers who shout ‘Allahu akbar’ are not martyrs but sacrilegious.
To maintain the Religion of Peace mantra in the context of terrorism, governments use mental illness as a mask.
Throughout history, Christians, Jews and Muslims have doubly sinned by taking life, and by doing so in God’s name. Yet undoubtedly religion has given licence to kill: in waging war, in the witchcraft hysteria, in persecution of heretics, and in genocides such as the Ottoman Empire’s annihilation of Armenian and Assyrian Christians.
Today, more blood is shed for Islam than any other religion, not only through conflict with the kuffar, but also between Sunni and Shia sects. Islam is a domination theology, asserting itself through jihad (holy war) and coercive proselytising.
In Dar al-Islam, all submit to Allah (Christians have a choice: convert or be subjugated).
The quest for purity, a strong theme running through Mohammed’s prophecy, is not unique to religion: communism and fascism treat unbelievers as contaminants. Taken to extremes, the hygiene imperative is as evident with Islamists as in the cull of kulaks in Ukraine or the Nazi Holocaust.
The Koran, if taken too literally, can be dangerous. In secular Western society citizens are taught that all religions are equal. Demographic destiny and the political project of Islam are taboo topics and politicians define acts of terrorism as un-Islamic, despite the jihadists’ stated intent.
While rushing to taint Christianity for sex abuse by a minority of priests, liberals resolutely defend the dignity of Islam. Within the faith, reformists are suppressed by fear of fundamentalists, as remarked by Ayaan Hirsi Ali in Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now (2015):
The majority of otherwise peaceful and law-abiding Muslims are unwilling to acknowledge, much less repudiate, the theological warrant for intolerance and violence embedded in their own religious texts.
To maintain the Religion of Peace mantra in the context of global terrorism, governments increasingly use mental illness as a mask.
Compare the official response to two terror events in Manchester.
In the Arena concert carnage, the bomber was revealed as a known militant Muslim. Salman Ramadan Abedi was born in Manchester to Libyan refugees of uncompromising Salafi ideology. Worried about a backlash, the authorities promoted a rally for peace with vacuous slogans: ‘We are Manchester’ and ‘Love not hate’.
Photogenic young women, some wearing headscarves, were shown as an antithesis to the imagined ogre of right-wing reactionaries.
This tragic loss of innocent lives was turned into a message not against the terrorists but anyone who complained about the terrorists.
In a more recent incident, the random stabbing of five people in Manchester’s Arndale shopping centre was attributed to mental disorder. An early Daily Mail story reported the murderer’s machete swinging to the cry of ‘Long live the caliphate.’ This detail disappeared in further media coverage.
The perpetrator was detained under the Mental Health Act, giving him anonymity as a NHS patient. We cannot be sure whether this man was driven by the same hateful rationale as the Arena bomber. The unidentified knifeman will be given drugs and counselling and soon he’ll be discharged on a community supervision order. Neighbours will be unaware of his doings, and the danger he poses.
McNaughten was heading for the gallows, but was acquitted on the defence of partial insanity.
Precedent for this judicial re-labelling of terrorism goes back to a 20th June 1843, when a young Scotsman named Daniel McNaughten attempted to assassinate prime minister Sir Robert Peel. Having a history of persecutory delusions, McNaughten waited outside Peel’s house, but shot and killed private secretary Edward Drummond by mistake.
Tried for murder, McNaughten was heading for the gallows, but to public outrage he was acquitted on the defence of partial insanity and sent to a criminal lunatic asylum. The House of Lords sought clarification from judges on culpability, and their answers became known as the McNaughten Rules.
For a defence of insanity, it must be proved that at the time of the crime the accused was devoid of reason, diseased of mind or unable to know that what he was doing was wrong. On this overlap of criminal, moral and concepts, leading psychiatrists Henderson and Gillespie (1950) remarked:
Whereas it is nominally required in the trial of a person pleading insanity to extenuation of the crime that evidence be taken both on his general state of mind at the time of commission of the crime and on his knowledge of the moral nature of the act, it is to the latter that attention is particularly or entirely devoted by the court. Consequently, it not infrequently happens that a person, who, from a general survey of his mental state was undoubtedly insane at the time, is found sane in respect of the criminal act. It follows that a man can legally be hanged for murder, and yet be regarded by the same court as unfit to take care of himself.
Morality may have been prominent in past judgments, but nowadays it is too politically sensitive to the multiculturalist agenda (witness the reluctance of public bodies to engage in the Prevent scheme). As mass murder for politicised Islam could spur public unrest with rabble-rousing Tommy Robinson rallies, the establishment is desperate to decouple terrorism from the fervid faith of terrorists.
Arguably, medicalising terrorism is an unwritten strategy of the state to maintain order and inter-community relations. This is ironic after an enduring public educational campaign against the stigmatising association of mental illness and violence.
There is no certain dividing line between the sane and insane. A mentally imbalanced person may be more prone to persuasion by cults or convoluted conspiracy theories, or to taking passages of scripture out of context.
As Peter Hitchens remarked, many a terrorist has been found to have dabbled in psychoactive drugs. But whatever the passionately-held beliefs of the killer, retrospectively diagnosed drug-induced psychosis could refute his agency – and his claim to be fighting for Islam.
Prisons are hives of radicalised, angry Muslim men, in which an inmate’s murderous rampage is likely to gain respect rather than revulsion. Detention in a mental hospital as a madman not only strips the perpetrator of political glory, but the authorities believe that this desultory fate will deter budding martyrs.
The successful suicide bomber will never be assessed by a psychiatrist: his mission is completed, and the threat to Western civilisation grows.

    1. Hypotheses

[1] There are innate sex differences in psychology which arose primarily from evolution, and specifically from the evolution of the pair bond. These innate sex differences have been enhanced, or suppressed, to varying degrees in different cultures, but never eliminated. The dominant feature is a ceding of moral authority to women, thus facilitating men’s essentially altruistic role in the pair bond. Men are motivated to avoid female disapproval.

[2] The ability of humans to form very large cooperative societies depends upon an innate tendency to conform to agreed (and partly arbitrary) rules of social behaviour: a social morality. This is policed by severe social disapprobation (outrage) and sanctions against offenders. The social emotions, especially guilt and shame, are instrumental in promoting conformance. Most people will self-police for fear of guilt and shaming. Whilst social morality will have common elements between cultures, much of it is contingent and malleable: moral relativism. (State controlled criminal law and punishment is not the most significant factor in promoting stable and cooperative societies).

[3] Humans’ rational cognition, especially the perception of mortality, promotes an existential unease manifest as questioning the meaning of life. In the past many (most?) people have found an adequate answer in adopting the socially approved stance in relation to [1] and [2], above, underpinned and “anchored” by a common religion which promoted the same values and addressed meaning through a metaphysical credo. The decline of religion has uprooted the anchor and left people adrift as regards meaning. The results are manifold, including anomie and nihilism and a tendency to seek meaning in social causes, which are then adopted with intense, and intolerant, religious fervour. (Such intemperate religiosity was condemned in times past as “enthusiasm”).

[4] People are strongly motivated to avoid the socially-enforced discomfort of guilt and shame, even though the socially prescribed morality may be arbitrary. Unease may arise because our rational cognition is able to perceive the arbitrariness of morally relativistic rules. This cognitive dissonance is relieved by the erection of narratives (ideologies) which rationalise the social morality. Such narratives survive despite being commonly replete with contradictions because of the pressing need to provide ostensible motivation for beliefs which are actually motivated by the urge to avoid the discomfort of dissent (instantiated by shaming).

[5] Reversing [4], the power of comforting narratives to validate arbitrary social rules can be exploited by those who control the narrative to impose opinions on the public which become perceived as moral. This is the basic process of moral manipulation made possible by the disappearance of an externally imposed moral “anchor”.

[6] In the absence of an externally imposed moral “anchor”, the above conditions define a dynamical system in which social morality will undergo continual change in a direction which advantages those who control the narrative. This will continue until such a time as the deception is perceived by the majority. What then happens is unknown.

    2. How the Hypotheses Relate to Our Current Malaise

Behind our present political polarisation lies moral manipulation by those seeking power. The above hypotheses describe the human proclivities which enable this mechanism.

Feminism is naturally aligned with those seeking power through this mechanism because evolution has imbued women “ready-made” with the requisite moral cachet (hypothesis [1]). The much-discussed relationship between feminism and Marxism arises because they both deploy the same mechanism based on moral force. In classical Marxism it is the moral force of the economically oppressed; in feminism it is the moral force of the oppression of women. Success of the political strategy depends upon success of the oppression narrative, not on its factual accuracy.

It would be an exaggeration to claim that a suitable narrative could impose any arbitrary social moral code. There is, at any given time and place, only a certain degree of latitude in what the public will accept. Push the narrative too far, too fast, and the public will reject it. The narrative must be presented as aligned in some way with existing perceptions of fairness. This careful choice of the ground on which the narrative is promulgated by its proponents, namely the ostensible moral high ground, presents the dissident with a great difficulty: opposition will always appear to the masses as morally reprehensible.

A basic strategy of narrative projection is Moral Vampirism. Any source of moral cachet can be annexed, co-opted and redirected for the purposes of the Grand Narrative. These subjects are moral redoubts which, like forts on the border of enemy territory, are the jumping-off points for attacks on the prevailing order.

These sources of moral cachet act as a smoke screen behind which less well advertised objectives are pursued. Thus, the promotion of women’s rights was always the moral face of a political desire to erode and bring down our existing culture. To the public it is promoted as equal pay and preventing violence to women; to its zealots it is promoted as “smashing the patriarchy”; but its purpose was always to eliminate the nuclear family and bring down the western capitalist system. It is remarkable that these overtly revolutionary aspects have been written about openly, in the name of feminism, in vast numbers of academic books and journal papers for half a century – and yet the public remain incredulous that such things could lie behind what is presented to them as the morally unassailable “preventing violence to women”. Such is the power of moral blind-siding.

One of the most significant victories for those pursuing this covert strategy was to have enshrined in legislation the ruling that “equality does not mean treating everyone the same”, Ref.1. Here we have the clearest example of how morality-as-smoke-screen operates. The public will readily accept that the pursuance of equality is a moral good (whether this is true is not apposite). But, cunningly, “equality” has been redefined on the basis of needs. We have been told that treating people equally may mean treating them differently because their needs are different. Thus the covert objective of implementing biased policies is achieved in the guise of “equality”. Prejudice is repackaged as the New Equality, and those pursuing this objective pass themselves off as the champions of loveliness whilst those who object are castigated by the narrative as reprehensible.

The legislative, political and judicial recognition that different groups have distinct needs, and that policy must be driven by these needs, enshrines Identity Politics within our culture. Identity Politics is inherently divisive, the approved distinct needs sanctioning preferential treatment – for some. The conflict between preferenced groups and out-groups which is promoted by this system reinforces the tribal perspectives within these groups, and amplifies an Identity-based mindset. The system therefore benefits from positive feedback once established. All this assists those of a collectivist stance, as group membership gains in significance. Were they wiser, they might realise that unopposed positive feedback is always catastrophic. This mechanism creates a monster which its creators will not be able to control; schism is inevitable, Ref.2.

The widespread adoption of the strategy of advancing unexamined policies behind a façade of moral rectitude has left us vulnerable to policies whose motivation is destructive. Motives which are psychologically dark may be amplified into widespread societal malaise by being promulgated via this covert mechanism. In particular we now have the female shadow running rampant through society, released by feminism. For this reason it is appropriate to examine the negative psychological characteristics of feminism in particular (see my next post).

Douglas Murray (Ref.3) has observed that, as regards gay rights, women’s rights and racial equality, we seem to have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory – or, as he puts it, “just as the train seemed to be arriving at the station, suddenly it has accelerated away again”. He is puzzled. I can explain. Gays, women, racial minorities,….they are all sources of moral cachet. The Morality Vampires descended upon them to usurp their causes for use as smoke screens for their Greater Purpose. What Murray, and any reasonable person, would perceive as “near victory” for these causes is, from the point of view of the Morality Vampires, the near exhaustion of their reserves of moral sustenance. Consequently, the narrative has been activated to revivify the oppression of these groups, so that they may still function as effective moral bludgeons. The speed of the train, in Murray’s metaphor, is proportional to the power these issues grant to those willing to exploit it.

It has become obvious that the in-groups of gays, women and racial minorities are being used as a front for entirely different political purposes than the interests of these groups themselves. Murray discusses many case studies which expose the matter. For example, merely having sex with other men, and not with women, is no longer sufficient to qualify as gay, apparently. In Murray’s words, you will be “excommunicated from the Church of Gay” for not having the Correct political opinions. In the reverse manner, Rachel Dolezal was rather put out when it was suggested that she was not an African-American black, as she had claimed. She felt that criticism of her stance based merely on the pathetic grounds that she was in fact white, with white parents, was invalid. She knew, she felt, she believed, that she was black – and so she was. And Whoopi Goldberg agreed. So now you understand trans. Of course a person with a penis can be a woman; it’s just a matter of holding the Correct political views. In this way, political Correctness becomes all there is; objective reality dissolves. Two and two is five because I say so.

The preferential treatment for some groups which results from this system naturally encourages support from within these groups (excluding those individuals who are sufficiently enlightened to see through the game). But the implied disadvantaging of other groups is part of the benefit to Identity Politicians. The ignoble motives that lie behind Moral Vampirism are again clear. Orwell observed that the motivation for so many socialists in his day was not love of the poor, but hatred of the rich. In our time the promotion of the rights of gays, women, racial minorities and trans is not so much compassion for these people as distain, even hatred, for white heterosexual men and a desire to bring them down. This is where “equality does not mean treating everyone the same” takes you. Many of our political class do not have the wit to understand this. But then there are those who do. And they are worse.

Control of the narrative includes propagandising, control of access to information, control of the media, limiting of free speech, and monopolising sources of supposed authority (schools, academia, the judiciary, charities, quangos, the civil service, Parliament and Government departments). At the start only partial control of a few of these functions will apply. As the narrative takes root, all these areas will be colonised. They are now.

Profound changes in social morality require a sustained campaign over decades (nudge, nudge, nudge). But over a single lifetime, moral sense can be completely reversed (e.g., the perception of what constitutes racism; Martin Luther King is now a racist). A signature feature of moral manipulation is a complete reversal of moral position occurring quickly (e.g., politicians’ rapid reversal on same-sex marriage). Conservatism is an instinctive protection against moral corruption. But at the level of those in positions of power, conservatism has fallen.

Those who control the narrative have become the ruling elite. Those who used to be the ruling elite have adopted the brave new narrative as the only means of hanging onto power. Once the public has been duped, the game is up in a democracy. Bad money drives out good.

One of the greatest benefits of pursuing a political strategy via moral manipulation is that, once established, its adherents will advocate the policies with ferocious energy and passion. To some onlookers, such firm conviction may be confused with validity. But actually it reflects the seat of moral conviction in the emotional psyche. Those whose opinions lean more upon rationality and evidence will tend to express their views with less passion. Unfortunately, the result is that the views which deserve greater respect are afforded less, as people tend to respond to emotionality more than to rationality.

Many social causes which have been adopted by their adherents with passion now inhabit the psychological space once occupied by religion. This comes about (I guess) because of the strong urge to find meaning and fulfilment in life, an urge which is satisfied by espousing these (morally promoted) causes with intense zeal. Feminists, eco-warriors, SJWs, supporters of Black Lives Matter, etc., are notable for their absolute intolerance of alternative opinions. These credos are akin to a religion sweeping through the world converting people by the sword.

Speaking of tolerance, Murray gives examples of very different reactions to people’s “mistakes”. A white man using, in innocence, the phrase “coloured people” rather than the approved “people of colour” will have a struggle to weather the resulting storm of criticism. In contrast, a black woman spending years tweeting KillAllMen and endlessly stating White People Are Trash and like sentiments, will face no censure. I apologise for the lack of originality, but it has to be said this is straight from Marcuse: repressive tolerance. Tolerate from the left, tolerate nothing from the right. And we have already seen that “black” means left and “white man” means right. It’s such a simple tactic even morons can do it. Despicable morons can do it especially well. So don’t bother labouring the fact that there is no semantic difference between “coloured people” and “people of colour”. No one gives a shit. They just hate you, and they will find a way to bring you down.

One of the reasons this cultural disease has spread so quickly and become so popular is that it appeals to people who are privileged. The evidence is there. Which universities are the most badly infected? That will be the most prestigious universities, attended, by definition, by the privileged. And the reason why these views are so dominant in centres of power and influence is not just entryism. It is also because the privileged can expiate their guilt by espousing the Correct views, the very purpose of which – thanks to longstanding Moral Vampirism – is precisely to reward adherents with absolution. What’s not to like? And it costs them nothing. They only need to conform. It is wryly amusing to note the virtual isomorphism between this process and Christian faith-confession-absolution. No doubt they both appeal to the same neural pathways.

The situation is further inflamed by the fact that many people appear now to be genuinely incapable of valid moral judgment.

So we have male feminists apologising for their masculinity, and we have white professors who open a speech with “I’d like to be less white, which means less oppressive, oblivious, defensive, ignorant and arrogant”. One can imagine the black audience swelling with pride at the implication that they are free from any such character flaws. Why do male feminists and white professors grovel so? It is not grovelling really. It is closer to self-aggrandisement by a circuitous route. The Pharisee may be on his knees, praying in a position of obeisance, but he is doing so on a street corner. By declaring their allegiance to “the oppressed” they distinguish themselves from “those other men” and “those other whites”. It is those others they are truly blaming, whilst they themselves are the “one good man”, or the “one good white”.

The pernicious aspect of this sneaky-fucker cunning is that it hugely reinforces the apparent validity of women’s (or blacks’) claimed oppression; after all, the oppressor has just admitted it! And does this faux-grovelling by feminist men and intersectionalist professors help heal the rift between the sexes and races? No, it works to deepen the rift by continually reinforcing the perception that it has a sound basis. Yet both sides in this wicked symbiosis are unconcerned that they are aggravating a running sore and promoting division because both sides profit from it (in terms of social standing, and perhaps financially).

The monster the pseudo-left have created is running out of control. It devours its own. The old second wave feminists are now the bigots, according to the trans lobby. And the black feminists and the BLM crew are placing all white people on the naughty table and being a lesbian won’t save you. This meltdown is inevitable. Identity Politics crushes opposition, and then it crushes its adherents. Even the dominant in-groups inevitably schism as the criteria for Correct status ratchets ever upwards and the minefield of potential errors becomes ever more tricky to negotiate (Ref.2).

How can this be stopped? Those who believe there is an absolute morality will naturally wish this to provide the missing moral anchor, the antidote to moral manipulation. However, the benefit of an externally imposed moral order is not restricted to absolute rectitude. Even a rather poor moral code, assuming it is not too tyrannical, will be better than a condition in which society ratchets ever downwards into turpitude and eventual societal collapse.

    Article here. Excerpt:

'It’s how overwhelmingly the women in the bar outnumber the men, a visible manifestation of a momentous trend at whose leading edge is Iceland.

The number of women in college around the globe has decisively overtaken the number of men. That includes in almost all of the 36 member nations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, or OECD, and in 39 of 47 countries of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, which extends to central and western Asia.

And nowhere is the divide as lopsided as in Iceland, where there are now two women in college for every man — the biggest imbalance in the OECD.

The reasons for this, its implications and the thorniness of dealing with it make this sparsely populated nation a laboratory for the countries heading in the same direction — including the United States, where the number of women in higher education has also caught up to and surpassed the number of men.'

The UK Statistics Authority has supported a complaint by the Men and Boys Coalition over the misleading use of the phrase “overwhelming majority” to refer to the proportion of female victims of domestic abuse.

The comments were made by Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State Victoria Atkins MP in a Parliamentary Debate on 16 July 2019, when the proposed Domestic Abuse Bill was announced on the floor of the House of Commons.

In the debate, the Minister stated:

“I am grateful to my right hon. Friend, because part of the purpose of the Bill is to raise awareness and to make the point that men can be victims of domestic abuse as well, but the overwhelming majority of victims are female, and that starts from the very beginning, so we need to teach boys and girls what to expect from healthy relationships. That is precisely why relationship education in schools is such a vital part of our programme.”

    Increased stigma

The Men and Boys Coalition wrote to the UK Statistics Authority stating it was incorrect and unjustified for the Government to use the term “overwhelming” given that two in three victims of domestic abuse are female (and therefore one in three are male). This incorrect  usage compounds the stigma and sense that male victims of domestic abuse have that they are not taken seriously and that their experience is an isolated one-off instance.

The Coalition’s letter stated: “Given that one in three victims of male which was mentioned throughout by the Minister (1.3 million are female and 695,000 are male) in Parliament and also was used throughout the Government consultation and related policy papers, we contend that this does not equate to the fair or correct usage of the term ‘overwhelming’.”

In their response, The UK Statistics Authority stated: “The phrase ‘overwhelming majority’ is a subjective statement. However, it may imply that a larger proportion of victims are female than the statistics show.”

However, a second complaint in the Coalition’s letter was not upheld.

    Un-evidenced statements

The letter also called on the UK Statistics Authority to rule on un-evidenced statements made by the Minister about the gender of perpetrators of domestic abuse.

During the same Parliamentary Debate, the Minster using the same ONS reported statistics, said:

“…we estimate that around 1.3 million are female and around 695,000 are male, and within that 695,000 we believe—it is very difficult to identify this, and there are problems in doing so—that the majority of perpetrators are male.”

The Coalition complaint stated: “It is of great concern that the Minister presents figures from the ONS report and then makes a statement which has no basis whatsoever in ONS statistics and which we believe, from the best available evidence, to be categorically and wholly incorrect.”

    Serious societal implications

Adding: “Given the relatively low numbers of men in same-sex relationships (or former same-sex relationships), the Government’s claim could only be true if it were alleging that male same-sex relationships are markedly more violent and abusive than heterosexual relationships, by many orders of magnitude. This has a range of serious societal and public policy implications, especially for the LGBT+ community and therefore it is incumbent on the Government to have clear and compelling evidence before making such a claim.”

Figures from a range of sources, including from the ONS themselves show that between only 10-13% of male victims of domestic abuse are victims solely at the hands of other men.

However, in their response, the UK Statistics Authority stated: “We contacted the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and they confirmed that they do not provide figures on the sex of the perpetrators of domestic abuse against men. ONS can only identify the sex of the perpetrator for partner abuse (a subset of domestic abuse) and have not published this data recently. Nevertheless, the Minister has been cautious in how this point is expressed in a way that appropriately recognises the limitations in the data.”

Adding: “This is clearly an important area of public interest on which better statistics would be valuable. ONS have told us that they will in future routinely include statistics on the sex of the perpetrator for partner abuse as part of the data tables in the Domestic Abuse statistics. We welcome this action.”

The Coalition thanks the UK Statistics Authority for their consideration.

The Men and Boys Coalition letter is available here:

Was wirst du tun, wenn du 50 bist? Was sind dann deine Chancen?

    Jemand anderes schreibt mir:

Nicht alles glauben, was andere Leute so schreiben.

A TV celebrity priest has come under fire for featuring a Pachamama idol in front of the parish altar and permitting Amazon Synod participants to conduct indigenous rituals at his Mass in Menorca, Spain.
Father Antoni Fullana Marquès, chaplain and director of the Catalan TV series Humans and vicar of Sant Antoni Maria Claret parish in Ciudadela, introduced “a group of itinerant missionaries” at the Holy Eucharist last Sunday.
A representation of the “Mother Earth” goddess Pachamama was placed in front of the altar and a bare-chested man wearing a hula skirt and feathers on his head danced around the sanctuary with a coconut oil lamp.
The priest and congregation were asked to stretch out their hands and welcome the “light” into their lives as three other participants perambulated around the altar, one playing a one-stringed musical instrument.
Four indigenous persons who had participated in the Amazon Synod and were returning to the Amazon made a stop-over in Menorca, even though the Balearic island is not on the route.
The parish priest praised the service on Facebook and in the parish bulletin: “Today at the Mass of 10am we had the pleasant visit of this group of itinerant missionaries to the Amazon. They come from the synod of Rome and have explained their experience and what they do on the mission. Thank you very much for your testimony,” he wrote.
Alexander Tschugguel, hailed for removing the Pachamama idols from the Church of Santa Maria del Traspontina in Rome and throwing them into the Tiber River, told Church Militant:
It was clear that Pachamama ‘rituals’ were going to be replicated in other parts of the world. As I pointed out, the indigenous peoples of the Amazon are only being used to promote a new religion. The ‘church with an Amazonian’ face was not invented for the Amazon area alone. It was cooked-up to turn around our faith and liturgy.
Mr. Tschugguel, who was travelling from Austria to the US, called upon faithful Catholics to take up cudgels against the desecration caused by such acts.
“Every faithful Catholic who witnesses such abominations must talk to the bishops and priests and show them, that we, as Catholic laymen no longer accept paganism entering the Church,” he said. We want the church to live by God’s commandments, not by those of ‘Mother Earth.’”
The Amazon Synod members also participated at a second Mass in the parish of Santa Eulalia Dalaior at 7 p.m.
A Facebook post on the Menorca diocese’s Secretariat for Missions defended the celebrations calling it “an experience of a plural and rich church that would spread and spread the Lord by incarnating him in the culture and identity of each town.”
It criticised traditionalists as “many times closed to the realities of others and the different way to express faith in the God and Father of Jesus Christ.”
Meanwhile, apostolic nuncio to Mexico Archbishop Franco Coppola has lashed out at critics of the indigenous rituals held in the Vatican Gardens on October 4 emphatically stating “at no time was there any act of worship on the part of the Holy Father or those who accompanied him: all of them were, all the time, in their seats.”
In a lengthy post defending Pope Francis, the papal ambassador questions the “sources of information” on the event held on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi and insists that the Pachamama figures “are not idols, but symbols that as such represent life, fertility and the earth.”
Coppola cites examples of inculturation from Mexico calling them Catholic: “In all the indigenous areas of Mexico there are, among their inhabitants, perfectly ‘Catholic’ rituals, but for those who do not know them, they may seem ‘pagan’ or ‘almost pagan.’”
Earlier, Bishop Felipe Arizmendi defended the presence of Pachamama at the Amazon Synod.
“They are not goddesses; it is not an idolatrous cult. They are symbols of Amazonian realities and experiences, with motivations not only cultural, but also religious, but not worship, because this is due only to God,” he wrote.
Arizmendi admits that he “felt annoyed” when he saw indigenous peoples prostrating to kiss the earth in his previous diocese, but understood that “the natives do not worship her as a goddess, but desire to value and recognise her as a true mother, because she is the one who feeds us, the one that gives us water, air and everything we need to live.”
“It is very daring to condemn the Pope as an idolater, since he never has been nor will be. At the end of the ceremony in the Vatican gardens, they asked for a word and simply prayed with our Father,” he stated.
On Monday, the Menorca diocese’s Secretariat for Missions welcomed the “itinerant missionaries” asking them to address a diocesan gathering.

Ein Byd, which is produced by ITV Wales, has contacted us regarding a programme that they hope to make on the Men’s Rights Movement. To give you some background information, ‘Ein Byd’ (meaning ‘Our World’) is a BAFTA nominated current affairs programme produced by ITV Cymru Wales, which began on S4C (the Welsh-language broadcaster) in January 2018. The programme looks at some of the biggest matters in the modern world through a Welsh lens. The topics explored may not often feature in the mainstream news cycle, and essentially looks at topics less explored in our Media today. Having enjoyed a very successful first and second series, ‘Ein Byd’ has built a reputation for bold and refreshing journalism: the subjects covered during the first series include America’s gun laws and last year’s mass shooting in Las Vegas, whilst the subjects covered in the second series include the rise of knife crime across the UK, and Birts going abroad for Comestic Surgery.

As part of the third series of ‘Ein Byd’ (scheduled for broadcast in January 2020), we would like to explore the possibility of doing a programme looking at the topic of The Men’s Rights Movement. ‘Ein Byd’ is aimed at a younger audience, and because of this we aim to make the style of the documentary programme one in which Sion Jenkins the presenter is fully immersed in the topic in which he explores. Their researcher, Ciara Conlon writes:

We understand that Men’s Rights matters are something that affects individuals and is an important movement to whom it concerns . Therefore we understand that there needs to be an open and ongoing dialogue between us and whom we will be working with, which is why we would like to reassure you that we are a very small, discreet crew. Bethan Muxworthy is our producer and also our camerawoman, who would be shooting the entire programme, and Sion Jenkins our presenter will accompany her. The last thing we want to do would be to intimidate anyone who feels as though they are in a compromising position – therefore we wouldn’t film or point a camera at anyone who didn’t consent to be on camera, and confidentiality would be something we would discuss at length with any participant before any filming was to commence.”

They may attend the March for Men and Messages for Men conference in London this Sunday and are very keen to make contact with MRAs, particularly of the Welsh variety!

Please get in touch with them ASAP, if you are interested in being involved. Ciara’s contact details are listed below:

FULL TEXT: It is a good thing that Fatima Ben Abdel Kader has been consigned to prison, for she is a terrible man-killer in every sense of the word. She is only an Algerian beauty, not yet forty; but she has already had seven husbands. Her first marriage ended abruptly and early in a divorce. She shot her husband in a fit of jealousy, and the Algerian Judges, finding some extenuating circumstances in the matter, only gave her five years’ imprisonment for the offence. As soon as Fatima was liberated she married a marabout [Muslim teacher], who avenged his predecessors by nearly killing her. Him she deserted ten years ago. Since that event she has marred four times, and had murdered, or caused to be murdered, two of her later husbands and one of her children. As this adventurous widow is reported to be “of ravishing beauty,” it is pleasant to hear that for twenty years to come she will pine in prison at Oran. When she comes forth she will be sixty, and, so far as my recollection goes, no Algerian woman of that age is in the smallest degree “dangerous” in the sense in which that profound philosopher, the elder Weller, applied the word to widows.

In October 2019, a 54-year-old woman named Kannammal was arrested in Senthipalayam, Tirupur district, Tamil Nadu state, India, on suspicion of committing three murders. Kannammal confessed to the murders and the corpses were discovered buried in her back yard. Police are looking into the possibility that there may be additional victims.

It is thought her daughter Poonkudi and son-in-law Nagendra were her accomplices. The victims were Kannammal’s brother Selvaraj (60) and his wife Vasanthamani (42), and Rajamani (60), and the mother Poonkudi’s mother-in-law. Initial reports state that the first of the three killings occurred in May 2019 and imply that the two others occurred on the same day sometime afterward and involving drugging followed by strangling.

Asking for a raise. Disagreeing with your boss. Telling your neighbor that their dog's barking is bothering you. Talking about money with your spouse. Debating politics with a friend. These are all difficult conversations fraught with anxiety, anger, and awkwardness. Many people just avoid them, but my guest says that with the right framework, you can handle even the most pitfall-laden exchanges. Her name is Sheila Heen, she's spent twenty years developing negotiation theory and practice as part of the Harvard Negotiation Project, and she's one of the co-authors of the book Difficult Conversations: How to Discuss What Matters Most. Sheila starts things off by sharing the most common difficult conversations people encounter professionally and personally and the most common unhelpful ways people deal with them. She then explains how every difficult conversation actually has three hidden conversations going on, how people confuse the impact of what others say and do with their intentions, how you can acknowledge your contribution to a problem without assuming the blame, how to share your emotions without being emotional, and how to generally move a conversation from being about combative confrontation, to being about exploring each other's stories.

The time is overdue for significant conferences away from London and the South East. The two previous ICMIs in the UK were held in London (2016 and 2018) in part because of demographic factors (notably Greater London’s population of 8+ million people), to make international travel less time-consuming for overseas speakers and other conference attendees, and a few other reasons.

An announcement will be made shortly about the future of the ICMI series. In the meantime I’d like to start exploring the viability of a National Conference on Men’s Issues conference in the north of England – possibly in Manchester, or Leeds? – in May 2020. The month has been chosen because it’s six months away from the Messages 4 Men conference, over which I exercise no control (although Elizabeth Hobson is one of the key organizers, along with Natty).

Before we start seeking potential venues, we’d be very interested to have your thoughts on a conference in the north of England. Please either post a comment on this blog piece, or email us (info@j4mb.org.uk). Suggestions of potential venues, including hotels, would be appreciated. Please let us know if you’re willing to volunteer to help at the event (or before it), we may give out a limited number of free passes to volunteers.

We’ll plan for a maximum of 200 people, the talks will be recorded for later posting on our YouTube channel. If the conference is the success we predict, we may make it a regular annual event, and move it around the UK (and possibly Ireland). Thanks.

'Representing oneself in court is very difficult, let alone in a Title IX case where a wide array of facts, procedures and legal precedent must be carefully laid out.

It’s all the more noteworthy that a disabled veteran suing his former university for anti-male bias has successfully represented himself, to the point where his lawsuit will move into discovery.

A federal judge refused to dismiss several claims against the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth by John Harnois, who was a Ph.D. candidate in oceanography at the public university.

U.S. District Judge Richard Stearns approved four variations of Title IX claims against various university officials to move forward Oct. 28: selective enforcement, erroneous outcome, creation of a hostile environment and Title IX retaliation. Other approved claims were for due process and state civil rights violations.'

Juristen melden große Zweifel an, ob Scholz' Pläne umsetzbar wären:

(...) Nein, nicht Gender Studies. Faculty of Engineering.

The Rockefeller Foundation, notorious for promoting abortion and the LGBTI+ agenda, is sponsoring a two-day Vatican conference under the auspices of Pope Francis and the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
The conference, on Reduction of Food Loss and Waste, is being held at the Casina Pio IV on Nov. 11–12 and includes speakers from other pro-abortion bodies including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Nestlé, recently criticised for using aborted foetal cell lines to test artificial flavour enhancers, in partnership with biotech firm, Senomyx, is also a participant at the conference. Last week, environmental activists attacked the Swiss multinational food and drink corporation for its plans to bottle more than a million gallons of water a day from natural springs in Florida.
The Vatican symposium also includes climate alarmist groups like GreenFaith, who promote “eco-prayers and rituals” from diverse religious traditions and who have declared a “climate emergency.”
‘Food waste is such an important issue that we’ll forget your views on abortion so we can work with you on it.’
The European Commission and United Nations are also represented. Speakers will share their views on the role faith-based communities may play for halving food loss and waste by 2030.
“Beyond its economic and environmental toll, food loss and waste is also a moral and ethical issue,” says Bp. Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, in his address to the conference. Sorondo came under fire last year for claiming that Communist China best applies the social doctrine of the Church.
The conference brochure quotes Pope Francis’ May 18 speech to the European Food Banks Federation:
Wastefulness is the crudest form of discarding. I think of the moment when Jesus, after the distribution of the loaves to the crowd, asks for the scraps to be gathered up, so that nothing would go to waste. Gathering in order to redistribute; not production that leads to waste. To throw food away means to throw people away.
Critics are questioning how the Vatican can allow the conference to be sponsored by bodies that discard as waste the most vulnerable human beings in the womb.
Edward Pentin, Vatican correspondent for National Catholic Register, who raised the question of Ford Foundation’s funding for the Brazilian bishops’ conference at the Amazon Synod, told Church Militant: “This approach opens the Vatican up to criticism because it gives the impression that it doesn’t really believe the Church’s teaching on such a grave issue as abortion, but sees it as one moral issue among many, and on a par with environmental concern.”
He continued: “It seems to be saying: ‘Food waste is such an important issue that we’ll forget your views on abortion and gender ideology so we can work with you on it.’ That doesn’t wash with many Catholic faithful.”
The Pan-Amazon Ecclesial Network (REPAM), based in Brazil and headed by Cdl. Claudio Hummes, controversial leader of the Amazon Synod, received almost $2million from the pro-abortion and pro-gender ideology Ford Foundation since 2006, Pentin revealed.
Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, denounced REPAM’s funding from the Ford Foundation: “As one Catholic Bishop I denounce this disgusting cooperation with evil & urge every believing Catholic to join me, we are morally bound to speak for the voiceless unborn children,” he tweeted.
Church Militant found that from 2010–2015, Catholic Relief Services, the international charitable arm of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, also received over $3 million from the Ford Foundation, as revealed by financial statements in the charity’s database.
The grants were made available for “sexual and reproductive health and rights” and for civil and human rights, fair economies, education and scholarship, and urban and rural land management.
The Rockefeller Foundation “promotes big government solutions at every turn, encourages more regulation of the economy and more dependency on the government, and backs corrupt social engineering schemes aimed at trying to force Americans to be better, i.e., more left-wing, people,” notes researcher Kirk McDonald writing for Foundation Watch.
Eduardo Cunha, the conservative lower house speaker of the Brazilian Congress, said in 2015 that U.S. charities like the Rockefeller Foundation were behind efforts to make abortion legal in his country and elsewhere in order to get rid of the poor and engineer demographic control.
In 2017, media reports exposed the Rockefeller Family Fund’s support for groups working to curb religious freedom. Also, the lesbian philosopher Judith Butler, a pioneer of the gender ideology movement, was a fellow of the Rockefeller Foundation.
“This approach opens the Vatican up to criticism because it gives the impression that it doesn’t really believe the Church’s teaching on such a grave issue as abortion.”
The Foundation supported the racist pseudoscience of eugenics in Nazi Germany and later funded America’s two most important sexual revolutionaries: Dr. Alfred Kinsey, father of modern sex education, and Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood.
Melinda Gates, billionaire wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, told the Global Family Planning Summit in 2017 that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation would funnel $375 million to population-control efforts over the next four years through abortion and contraception.
The Gates Foundation gave $46 million to Marie Stopes International in 2012 alone. It also provided funding to the tune of $71 million to Planned Parenthood of America, International Planned Parenthood Federation and Planned Parenthood of Western Washington from before 2009 through 2013.
Under Pope Benedict XVI, the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano lambasted the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for securing $4.6 billion dollars over the next eight years to promote contraceptives, starting in Africa.
Church Militant contacted the Holy See Press Office for comment but received no response as of press time.

We’ve previously posted two pieces on the estimable Neil McEvoy AM (Assembly Member) – here.

Our thank to Myfanwy Jones (she gave us permission to reveal her name) for this (video, 48:21), footage from Neil’s press conference today. His description under the video:

Here’s the press conference that has rocked the Welsh Assembly. The Standards Commissioner has already resigned after I exposed what he was really like and how he was undermining our democracy. Now we need to keep pushing for a Senedd that is fit to be our national Parliament. The Welsh people deserve better than this.

p.s. apologies to those who tuned in live for the conference. The Assembly internet suddenly dropped to extremely low speeds as soon as the conference started. Maybe too many people in the building were tuning in!

'As a highly successful woman in New York’s male-dominated development arena, MaryAnne Gilmartin has a “mini-obsession”: She wants to oversee a commercial real estate project in which every part of the process is headed by a woman.

Ms. Gilmartin, the founder of L&L MAG, a real estate development company, knows from experience how to run a real estate project. As the chief executive of Forest City Ratner Companies, she oversaw such prominent projects as the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the Renzo Piano-designed New York Times building in Manhattan.

Now, she has set her sights on doing the same with an all-women team. Ms. Gilmartin calls it a “she build,” and she knows “exactly where to go to find the right woman for every single part of the deal,” she said.'

'One in every two FTSE 100 executive appointments over the next year will have to go to a woman if the UK is to meet targets to tackle the gender imbalance across British business by 2020, a report has warned.

A “step change” at the UK’s biggest listed companies is needed if they are to hit a key metric where women make up at least a third of executive-level leadership teams by the end of next year.

The latest conclusion from the government-commissioned Hampton-Alexander review means more women across blue chip-listed firms will need to be propelled into key positions , including chief executive, chief financial officer or chief operating officer – as well as senior management that report directly to executives committees – in the coming months.'

Die Medien, darunter NBC News, The Daily Wire, Refinery 29, The Chronicle of Higher Education, FOX News und USA TODAY, berichteten über seinen Aktivismus.

'Reactions in France over the recent news of McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook being shown the door for being in a consensual relationship with an employee have been those of shock and dismay.

Some are calling it the latest case of American puritanism, "far from French ways," and reminding the French public that, at least in France, employees and bosses are free to date and protected by their right to privacy.

France is generally a very tolerant country when it comes to intimate relationships. The Paris Court of Appeal even recently acknowledged that an accident during sexual intercourse in the context of a business trip could be considered a workplace accident.
    ...
"For me, it goes too far," said Anne Rudisuhli, a psychotherapist who signed a letter with 99 other women defending men's "freedom to importune, indispensable to sexual freedom."'

    Article here. Excerpt:

'Though his reputation rests on his moderation, Biden's approach to campus sexual assault is part of a pattern: He identifies an actual problem, engages in inflammatory—and sometimes false—rhetoric about it, then fashions a harsh, overreaching response that sweeps up the harmless and even the innocent. He has been called to task on the consequences of this approach to the federal wars on drugs and crime. (As a senator, he was a key figure in overseeing comprehensive drug and crime legislation.) Over the years, and especially since announcing his presidential run, he has repudiated some of the policies he previously promoted.

But he continues to tout his work on campus sexual assault. He boasted about it at the second presidential debate. How did Biden come to advocate such extreme policies on this topic? And if he were elected, what would it mean for how he would govern?

An analysis this spring in The Chronicle of Higher Education gives Biden full credit for the campus reforms. "Advocates say the sweeping Title IX changes that have transformed higher education would not have happened without Biden's support," the Chronicle notes. (Title IX is the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education.) Campus security consultant S. Daniel Carter, who worked with the vice president on these issues, said, "This movement would not exist without Joe Biden."'

A piece in the current edition of The Spectator:

I wonder if we are beginning to see the end of assortative mating. For a long while now we have tended to select our life partners from the place in which we work — rather than, as before, from our home towns or places of education. This process began with the long march of women into the workplace in the early 1970s, a development which, while overall being undoubtedly both benign and just, nonetheless slightly widened the gap between rich and poor. Men and women who worked together had a tendency to, if I can put it like this, cop off. This meant we had many more families where both parents worked, and many more families where nobody worked. Assortative mating of this kind was exacerbated by the fact that we were ever more transient and mobile, and marrying later and later.

But new and wonderfully woke employment laws may be starting to reverse this trend, and both men and women may soon be thinking: if we can’t sleep with anyone at work, who actually can we sleep with?

The story of Steve Easterbrook, the now former boss of McDonald’s, is a case in point. Easterbrook, who is British, was fired from his £12 million per year job because he had enjoyed a consensual sexual relationship with a woman with whom he worked. This came to the notice of his bosses and that was it: out. What I found remarkable about this story was the almost complete acceptance it was afforded in the media, as if this was a perfectly just decision taken for decent reasons by a caring and mindful multinational company. Not just the media, either — Steve Easterbrook himself said he agreed with the company’s decision and that it was time for him to ‘move on’. I daresay his payoff will have lessened his grief, but still. Easterbrook is long divorced. There is nothing whatsoever to suggest that his relationship with the unnamed woman was anything other than entirely consensual, and indeed McDonald’s didn’t seem to care one way or another about that — simply that it happened and that Easterbrook was on a higher payscale than his girlfriend.

A McDonald’s worker in New Orleans, Tanya Harrell, who has claimed she was groped at work, said dozens of complaints of sexual harassment at the company have been ignored. ‘With the firing of Steve Easterbrook, we now know why,’ she added. ‘It’s clear McDonald’s culture is rotten from top to bottom. McDonald’s needs to sit down with worker-survivors and put them at the centre of any solution.’

But what does Easterbrook’s relationship have to do with sexual harassment cases? He was fired because he had sex with someone who was junior to him in the hierarchy. If the woman had been in the position of authority then she would have been fired. I don’t know what the McDonald’s regs say about men and women who are on exactly the same pay and grade who decide to indulge in a bit of extracurricular poking — maybe they both get fired.

I remember about 25 years ago hearing John Humphrys interview the somewhat odd feminist author, the late Andrea Dworkin, on Today. As you might imagine, it was not a meeting of minds. At one point Ms Dworkin said to Humphrys: ‘Any act of sexual intercourse between a man and a woman is necessarily coercive.’ John harrumphed a little and replied: ‘Not in my experience it isn’t.’ Dworkin’s extreme views were considered hilarious back then — and yet it seems to me today that this is the precisely the view implicit in the regulations laid down by McDonald’s. Because Easterbrook was in a position of authority, the coercion was tacit: he had the power, she didn’t. She might have found his advances — if he made advances — unpleasant but difficult, because of her subordinate position, to resist. That there is not the slightest evidence to support this thesis does not matter one jot. In a Marxist sense, the woman was objectively exploited. It is odd to think of McDonald’s as a Marxist company, but there we are.

I was working at Today when that Dworkin interview was aired. And I can tell you — everybody was at it then, all the time. All over the place. Most memorably for me underneath the giant satellite dish on the top of the White City building, so cold we both kept our coats on: happy days. The BBC back then had an extraordinarily hierarchical structure and I worked out during one long night shift that when male members of staff and female members of staff had sexual relations, the average gap of grades between them was two, almost always with the male being in the more senior grade. I daresay that this would now be seen as a toxic working environment and that women were being sexually exploited through tacit co-ercion on an epic scale. In fairness, I do know at least one woman who felt used and exploited by a senior member of staff, justifiably so, and the bitterness and anger remains to this day. Those not persuaded by #MeToo might suggest that old notion that women are attracted to more powerful men. My guess is that it’s a bit of both. Either way, with that one exception, most went on to form long-term relationships with their co-workers and later have kids. Assortative mating.

But the Dworkin thesis has us in its grip. A kind of reversal of feminism — that sexual intercourse is something that men do to women, that women are the ‘gatekeepers’ and men insatiable predators. And now it’s in the workplace — because what America does today, we do tomorrow.

Walking. It can seem, well, rather pedestrian.

But my guest today makes the case that walking can act as a gateway to explore memory, meaning, and what it means to be human. His name is Erling Kagge, he’s an adventurer and philosopher, and we had him on the show last year to discuss his book Silence (that's episode 433). Erling’s latest book is called Walking, and we begin our conversation discussing the connection between bipedal locomotion and silence and how walking instead of driving can help slow down time and deepen our memories. Erling makes the case that embracing voluntary hardship can enrich your life and how walking can be a step towards that. He then shares why going for a walk can help you solve problems, why most great philosophers were also committed walkers, what the Adam and Eve story can teach us about the need for exploration, and how walking can be one of the most radical things you can do in the modern age.

You'll want to take a walk after listening to this show, or maybe you'll walk while you're listening.

Stephen Green has a post up at Instapundit on the US Submarine force’s failure to meet the needs of women.  Not all women who want to serve on submarines are given slots, and thus the Submarine Community Can’t Meet Demand From Female Sailors.  Green half jokingly suggests that this means the US needs to build more attack submarines.  Commenter Chris Lutz responded with the old conservative position, that women shouldn’t be on ships:

Clearly, in order to address this iniquity, we need to build more attack subs.

No, we need to put women back into truly rear echelon support positions. Women on ships has been a disaster.

Commenter Southern Man wanted to agree that women shouldn’t be serving on ships, but pointed out that kickass conservative gals made him feel good:

Part of me agrees with this. But my daughter is in the US Navy and I’m pretty d*mn proud of her. Her second deployment was on the Harry S. Truman, CVN 75. I asked her “did you ever see the Bridge?” She rolled her eyes as only a daughter can do and said “Dad, my station was <redacted>, I was on the bridge all the time!”

Commenter evilsandmich reconciled the conflicting positions by pretending that the change we are witnessing isn’t due to feminists shoving their way in, but by men forcing women into harm’s way:

She’s great, the nation that would intentionally put its women in harms way, eh, not so much…

This is all of course very common, but this is the point.  This is how conservatives respond to feminism across our society, and is why conservatives are such reliable allies of feminism despite the widespread belief that the opposite is true.

(Was zu keiner Sperre führte.)

    3. In Australien wüten derzeit verheerende Waldbrände.

Our thanks to Ray for this by Andrew Verity, Economics correspondent at the BBC. Not a single word about some of the key issues driving the gender pay gap (which is only significant above the age of 40, anyway) including women’s preference for part-time work (or no work), career choices, work ethic, and more. The Force It Society is quoted early on, unbiased commentators that they are. An extract from the piece:

Labour said the new agency would check firms with more than 250 employees were meeting gender equality criteria on recruitment, career progression, pay and work-life balance. [J4MB: What business would any government have dictating work-life balance? Most women aren’t going to stop prioritising life over work – only possible because men’s work enables it – so will men be forced to work less? It seems so.]

Those that did would become certified. Labour would then lower that threshold by the end of 2020 to workplaces with 50 employees.

It will also extend maternity pay from nine to 12 months and introduce free childcare for two to four-year-olds. [J4MB: Only “free” because male taxpayers (primarily) will be funding it through their taxes.]

As always, the idiots at the CBI are part of the problem, as they have been on “women on boards” for 10+ years:

Matthew Fell, CBI chief UK policy director, said firms shared the Labour Party’s goal but: “Creating inclusive workplaces where everyone can thrive is the only way to tackle gender inequality at work.”…

The CBI… says it shares the Labour Party’s ambition to close the gender pay gap as quickly as possible.

'Shoptalk said on Wednesday that its 2020 retail conference in Las Vegas would feature exclusively female speakers in a one-off move the organizer said was meant to address the paucity of women in top roles in corporate America.

The well regarded annual conference, which is scheduled for March 22-25, launched in 2016 and attracted 8,000 people in 2019. The event's organizer says the all-female format will be replaced by a 50-50 gender breakdown starting in 2021. A third of the speakers at its March 2019 conference were women.

"This is not a long-term plan to be 100% women, but to move the needle we really do need to take this quite bold step," Zia Daniell Wigder, Shoptalk's chief global content officer, tells Fortune.'

An Italian priest who sexually abused a 10-year-old girl has been arrested after his victim recorded his sexual advances on her mobile phone.
Father Michele Mottola began grooming Marina (not her real name) soon after he took up his post as parish priest of Trentola Ducenta in Campania, near Naples, in 2017.
The abuse, which lasted until February 2018, began when Marina was 10 years old.
Mottola won the trust of the child and her family by visiting them regularly and plying the girl with gifts, including a watch, a jacket and a computer.
Marina’s mother soon noticed a change in her daughter's behaviour. “Sometimes she stared at the void as if she wanted to vent her anger but couldn’t,” shetoldNina Palmieri, a reporter from Le Iene TV, who exposed the predator priest.
‘You know there is someone in the parish who does things to me, it is Don Michele, he kisses me.’
Marina confided in two parishioners and told them she was being sexually abused. One of them recounted, “The child told me in confidence, ‘You know there is someone in the parish who does things to me, it is Don Michele, he kisses me.’”
The two parishioners refused to believe Marina and so she began writing notes asking for help.
“But is what Don Michele and we do called sex?” Marina wrote.
When this failed, she decided to record her meetings with the priest on her mobile phone.
“I would keep you here from morning till night if your mother was more consenting,” says Fr. Mottola in a recording, adding, “Do you know that I love you; do you want a little kiss?”
Marina tried to stop him, but he reassured her, “Look, there's nobody there. You are scared? Embrace me, kiss me.”
A few days later the girl returned to the priest’s apartment, just above the parish church, and began recording the abuse.
The audio has sighs and silences suddenly broken by the girl's weeping and pleading: “Enough, enough!” At a certain point, the priest said to her, “Take this to dry yourself.”
When Marina played the recordings to one of the parishioners, she asked the child to tell her mother immediately. Fearing her mother, Marina remained silent.
On Feb. 2, Marina confronted Fr. Mottola during another meeting with him.
“You’re like Islamic suicide bombers, throwing a bomb, killing people and leaving.”
“Those things that we do, I would like not to continue,” she told him. The priest attempted to emotionally blackmail her, saying, “So you consider me a kind of mental patient if you treat me like this. I wouldn’t want you to see me as one who does violence to children.”
A few weeks later Marina told the priest that she has reported the matter to other parishioners. He replied, “You didn't have to do it, because now they will understand other things. Things will get very bad. I will come to your home to talk to your parents.”
Marina continued to record the priest's meeting with her mother. Then the priest accused the girl of lying: “You can tell lies. Did you understand you can lie? You’re like Islamic suicide bombers, throwing a bomb, killing people and leaving. The mud ends up also on your family and on you.”
The girl’s mother chose to believe the priest and threatened to take the girl to a mental institution.
Mottola again tried to force the girl into silence, saying, “Can you say that you have invented everything to the limit? Everything, that I took you to the bedroom ... everything. So ... we take this mess out of the way ... we pretend that it never happened, we don’t talk about it anymore, okay?”
The parishioners eventually intervened and Marina's mother finally reported the matter to the bishop.
On May 25, 2018, Bp. Angelo Spinillo of the diocese of Aversa issued Mottola with a Decree of Immediate Suspension and initiated a formal procedure submitting the priest to a canonical judicial process. He also reported the abuse to the Public Prosecutor of the Commissariat of Aversa.
“My daughter was smarter than him, she was good, eh? She was very good and I'm proud of my daughter,” Marina’s mother told Palmieri, the reporter from Le Iene, a television program on the Italian channel Italia 1.
Police then arrested the priest on the order of the Court of Naples, where he remains in prison to this day.
Church Militant reported on a similar case last year involving Fr. Robert DeLand, arrested and convicted on the strength of audio recordings that captured his grooming of a 17-year-old teen boy. Like Mottola, DeLand denied the abuse, blaming the victim for making up stories about the attempted abuse.
DeLand went so far as to perjure himself on the stand during trial, claiming he had never offered the boy cigarettes or alcohol, when the audio evidence proved otherwise. It also showed his attempts to get the boy high on drugs before he sexually assaulted him.
As a result of the incriminating audio recordings, DeLand was sentenced to 2–16 years in prison. He is currently serving his time in a Michigan prison.

Heute wird die Genderama-Medienschau besonders international.

    * Wertschätzung männlicher Vorbilder

    * Anerkennung des Beitrags von Männern und Jungen

    * Verbesserung der männlichen Gesundheit

    * Bekämpfung von Diskriminierung und Benachteiligung

    * Förderung positiver Geschlechterverhältnisse

    * Die Welt zu einem sichereren Ort für alle machen

A leading Anglican LGBTI+ activist who is campaigning to make “reparative therapy” a criminal offence was warmly received by Pope Francis at Casa Santa Martha yesterday after Holy Mass in the pontiff’s private chapel.
Jayne Ozanne, who led the debate banning reparative therapy in the Church of England’s General Synod, told Pope Francis that that she had tried to make herself straight through conversion therapy, and that such treatments had led many young people to consider suicide.
The lesbian activist, who self-identifies as an evangelical Anglican, also said that had grown up in a Church that told her “she could never be a wife, a mother or a grandmother” and that her prayer was “for everyone to know they are precious children of God, just as they are.”
Ozanne asked the Holy Father through a translator whether he knew what conversion therapy (the pejorative term used for reparative therapy) was and Pope Francis said he did.
The LGBTI+ campaigner also presented Pope Francis with a copy of her autobiography Just Love: A Journey of Self-Acceptance and a brochure of the Ozanne Foundation which claims to work with “religious organisations around the world to eliminate discrimination based on sexuality or gender in order to celebrate the equality and diversity of all.”
“I had no doubt now that I was gay, and that yes, it most certainly did make me happy.”
Ozanne’s memoir has been criticised for its reductionist interpretation of Christianity and its substitution of Moralistic Therapeutic Deism for the gospel of Christ.
“My primary goal had been to find out who I was, and whether being in a relationship with a woman would make me happy,” writes Ozanne. “I had no doubt now that I was gay, and that yes, it most certainly did make me happy,” she insists.
Ozanne also presented the Pope with the findings of a 2018 Survey into Faith and Sexuality conducted by the Ozanne Foundation. The survey claims that LGBTQ+ children of faith who are subject to reparative therapy suffer significant harm and mental health issues.
Ozanne’s study has received scathing criticism from professionals including the International Federation for Therapeutic and Counselling Choice who question “the quality of the research, the theology, and the assumptions about homosexuality that make up the report.”
Dr. Walter R. Schumm, professor of Applied Family Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Kansas State University, wrote in his foreword to the Ozanne Foundation report:
Should we therefore outlaw religion in the UK and elsewhere because it ‘inflicts’ mental health harm on some people, apparently? If we want to criminalise anything that may lead to some people ‘hating’ themselves, why not ban both the Anglican church and conversion therapy, as it was only a matter of degree intheir ‘hating self’ effects on some people?
A day before Pope Francis met Ozanne, he met Justin Welby, archbishop of Canterbury, at Casa Santa Marta. Welby was accompanied by Abp. Ian Ernest, director of the Anglican Centre in Rome and Representative of the Anglican Communion to the Holy See.
Sources told Church Militant that Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, had facilitated the Ozanne’s meeting with the Pope, but media spin-doctors had been told to keep the two meetings apart.
“Ozanne has become, in effect, Justin Welby’s own Pachamama, but with sterility replacing fertility.”
Speaking to Church Militant, former Queen’s Chaplain Bishop Gavin Ashenden said that it is a matter of great sadness that Ms Ozanne is now using the meeting to persuade Pope Francis that praying for people conflicted with disordered sexual desires should be banned.
“If you want to know where Justin Welby’s heart and vision are, look no further than the meeting which he facilitated between Jayne Ozanne and Pope Francis,” Dr Ashenden said.
There is sad convergence between the scandal that Amazonian fertility idols have created within the Catholic Church, and the scandal that Ms Ozanne’s campaign to ban prayer for Christian transformation and holiness has produced. She has become, in effect, Justin Welby’s own Pachamama, but with sterility replacing fertility.
    He continued:
Ozanne’s promotion of secular feminism, with the determination to lock people into homosexual experience, has become a totemic religious perversion of the faith, contradicting both Bible and 2,000 years of tradition. For faithful Christians it is a scandal that Welby should use his visit to Rome to promote a movement that bans prayer and help for troubled Christians seeking both.
Ozanne is a founding member of the Archbishops’ Council for the Church of England and has been strongly supported by Welby in her campaigning for LGBTI+ causes.
The meeting has scandalised conservative Anglicans who see Ozanne as defying biblical teaching on sexuality while calling herself evangelical and charismatic.
Andrea Minichiello Williams, member of the Church of England’s General Synod and Chief Executive of Christian Concern told Church Militant: “As Jayne Ozanne meets with the Pope I am at a meeting that has been forced underground with some 200 people including leading experts, medics, and counsellors who work with men and women who choose to leave their homosexual and transgender past.”
She added: “Here are many stories of compassion, repentance, healing and hope. It is a betrayal of the gospel to encourage sin rather than warn people about it. We are underground, because the authorities will not hear these stories. There are multiple testimonies to the transforming power of Jesus Christ who offers to reorient every one of us from our sins to the path of freedom in holiness.”
“It is a betrayal of the gospel to encourage sin rather than warn people about it.”
Earlier, columnist Dr Will Jones slammed Ozanne’s campaign pushing the UK government to ban conversion therapy:
So it’s not just therapy for gay people it would ban, it’s therapy for transgender people as well. It would prohibit any effort to help someone who suffered with gender dysphoria to accept and live as their biological sex, even if they wanted such help. It would require everyone to affirm people’s claims about what their ‘gender identity’ is and make it a criminal offence to take any action (even if requested by the person themselves) aimed at bringing their psychology in line with their biology.
Ozanne has since uploaded pictures of her meeting on her social media pages and website. “Today I had the immense privilege of presenting #JustLove and research to @Pontifex,” she notes. “He [the Pope] then took my hands & said ‘Please pray for me as I pray for you,’” she adds.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis and Justin Welby have agreed to visit South Sudan together if the political situation in the country permits the creation of a transitional government of national unity in the coming 100 days.

Trump Admin Tells UN “There is No International Right to Abortion. Everyone Has a Right to Life”

The Trump administration continued to stand strong for the rights of unborn babies Thursday against international pressure to support abortion on demand.

The Daily Nation reports the United States and European Union “openly clashed” over abortion politics at an international population summit organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Kenya and Denmark.

The Nairobi Summit on International Conference on Population and Development 2025, which took place in Kenya this week, largely is a meeting of abortion activists and pro-abortion political leaders.
On Thursday, the United States and 10 other countries rejected a summit document that supports abortion on demand, according to CNS News.
In a joint statement, Valerie Huber, appointed by President Donald Trump as a special representative for global women’s health, said they believe that every human being has a right to life.

“There is no international right to abortion,” Huber said. “In fact, international law clearly states ‘everyone has the right to life.’”

    Life News

It’s a shameful time when it takes an American to need to tell the United Nations of one of their founding principles.

In 2017, President Donald Trump stopped giving American tax dollars to UNFPA because it pushes abortions on other countries and has worked with China for decades to implement its forced abortion population control policies. Trump renewed the order again in 2018 and 2019. The decision cut $32.5 million in funding from the UNFPA budget.

The UNFPA is the organisation that stated openly that the broken family is a “triumph of human rights”. It’s time other nations stopped funding this dreadful organisation.

As the International Day for Tolerance looms close, it seems the purge of UK politicians not fully signed up to the current LGBT orthodoxy continues. After Labour’s Roger Godsiff was deselected earlier in the month, this time it was the turn of Liberal Democrat candidate Rob Flello to face the axe.

Flello was sacked as the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for Stoke-on-Trent South after just 36 hours. Explaining its decision, the party cited his “values” – understood to mean his views on only two issues, including gay marriage.

Flello was one of only 22 Labour MPs to vote against same-sex marriage in 2012. He lost his seat to the Conservatives in 2017 before defecting to the Lib Dems in September saying Labour was a party he could “no longer recognise”.

A party spokesman said: “We do our best to screen candidates in our approval process. In this case it only really became clear over the past few hours how greatly his values diverge from ours.”

Mr Flello hit back, however, saying: “the Lib Dems have gone back on what they said. I feel utterly misled by the Lib Dem Party who claim in their constitution to acknowledge and respect the right to freedom of conscience.”

Surveys show that up to 40 per cent of the public do not support same-sex marriage. It must continue to be acceptable for our politicians to hold and voice these views. Conscientious commitment to traditional beliefs about marriage should not be suppressed in a free and tolerant society.

The issue of romances that start up by people meeting at work has come to the fore recently, as a MacDonald’s boss has lost his £12 million a year job. While it may be hard to sympathise with someone on that level of ridiculous salary, it does highlight that even great wealth and high position are no safety from those who want to stamp out romance. Indeed, high positions are in some way the target, for Steve Easterbrook might have been safe in his job if only he had found someone else also at the top of the company to have a romance with.

But life — and attraction between the sexes — isn’t like that. Women generally want to have a relationship with a man in a better position, and earning more, than themselves. Most men don’t mind that. But there are minority elements in our societies that don’t want to allow it.

To be very clear: there is no question of any improprieties involved between Easterbrook and his lover. Both single, both adults, both fully consenting, neither putting any pressure on the other of any kind. In fact, the only ‘inappropriate’ part of their liason is that one was higher up the ladder than the other; and to they did is that they both worked for the same company.

Well, having the man in a higher position than the woman is normal. It’s what most women want.

And busy people, who commit much of their (single) lives to their large international company don’t have much chance to meet anyone outside of the company. Sometimes, they will only see family and workmates for months on end. So where are they supposed to find that special person in their lives?

Justice for Men & Boys report on a Spectator article:

…What I found remarkable about this story was the almost complete acceptance it was afforded in the media, as if this was a perfectly just decision taken for decent reasons by a caring and mindful multinational company.

I daresay that this would now be seen as a toxic working environment and that women were being sexually exploited through tacit coercion on an epic scale.

Rod Liddle: Beware the workplace romance

As Ron Liddle almost questions, why are large corporations behaving like Marxist communes? Large companies don’t tend to do things like that without seeing some profit in it, but quite how they think it will profit them is not clear.

The Sun show concern over when work relationships go wrong but highlight out the obvious point: if we sack everyone who meets their partner at work, we would have a lot of unemployed people.

I met my husband at work. It is worth saying that before I wade in on McDonald’s firing of boss Steve Easterbrook following his relationship with an employee.

When my relationship began with my other half Paul, who played for Birmingham City between 1992 and 1994, I couldn’t see a problem with it.

We were single. We liked each other. We became friends. We fell in love and we got married. Our work lives, I can safely say, were in no way compromised by the relationship. Although it came close when I sold him, in 1996, to another team . . .  for the second time.

    That was 25 years ago…

The affair is not necessarily the problem, so much as the fallout when and if things go wrong. That said, we are only human (not just human resources).

If you fall for someone at work, it’s hard to deny your feelings, especially if you are two single adults and there are no complications. If everyone who had an affair at work got the sack, unemployment would rocket.

    Karren Brady, The Sun

To exclude sex from the workplace as a means of protecting women is an exclusion from the sexual realm that women have enjoyed ever since open availability of the birth control pill. It is a feminist ploy to further victimise women and reduces them to the status of objects who need protection from men.

The French — the world’s model for lovers — aren’t having any of it. abcNews are reporting how the France is astonished at the idea that people shouldn’t get together at work. They see it as an invasion of privacy to be told what to do in their private life. I doubt the French will tolerate the level of personal restriction that the Americans put up with.

“For me, it goes too far,” said Anne Rudisuhli, a psychotherapist who signed a letter with 99 other women defending men’s “freedom to importune, indispensable to sexual freedom.”

“We are putting walls in places where it is not necessary,” Rudisuhli said. “The sexuality of people does not concern the company. Women are big enough to know what they want. All women do not dream of marrying their boss. There is contempt for women as if we were venal and we need to protect them. It’s contemptuous.”

    Anne Rudisuhli

The sexual revolution became a way for French women to take part in a culture that had defined French society and, as such, allowed women to be operators rather than merely objects.

“The sexual question is magnified among some feminists,” admitted Françoise Vergès, a political scientist and writer

    abcNews

Which way will other countries go? Will they choose to allow companies to dictate to people in a way that has caused civil war in the past, or will the people insist on their right to a private life?

Trinidad and Tobago, where International Men’s Day began in 1992, is back on the headlines (well, the headline here) for caring about men.

Psychologist Dexter De Bellotte calls for safe spaces where men can talk about their problems. He wants a multidisciplinary approach that can help boys and men cope with childhood trauma.

The Trinidad and Tobago Newsday has the low-down on this (see, someone else has the headline):

More help needed for male victims of rape and other trauma

He was speaking at a panel discussion – Gender Equality with Equity: Saving our Boys, at Nalis in Port of Spain on Wednesday. The event was one in a series held in commemoration of International Men’s Day which is celebrated on November 19.

“We have a lot of men and old men who were raped and they never tell anybody. They walk around in secret.

“Men don’t talk, they hardly ever talk. We don’t have the opportunity or avenue to speak, and when we get the opportunity to speak we withdraw.”

    Newsday

He said the public has to stop thinking that men with issues will speak up. He said the society must reach out to men and boys who may be struggling with trauma or abuse.

“We need to let them say what is wrong with them.”

Well, that would be a good idea but perhaps rather too novel, to care enough about men and boys to ensure that the inter-generational violence isn’t perpetrated.

De Bellotte spoke on Wednesday at the panel discussion “Gender equality with equity: saving our boys” in Port of Spain.  The event was part of a series of International Men’s Day events that will be held on 19 November.

“There are men in Trinidad and Tobago who are in prison for a childhood trauma.” One thing leads to another, he said, explaining why the public needs to address the causes, because “inappropriate traumas can have a long-term impact on the quality and duration of a person’s life.”

    Newsday

De Bellotte said the drop-out rate in male students is linked to past traumatic experiences that affect their learning abilities and accused the system of being designed to let men down.

Abuse of males, he said, has the ability to affect healthy relationships with friends and significant others. Men also struggle with expressing emotions and this can lead to violent actions. “We keep addressing the actions, asking ‘Why you kill, why you steal, why you keep smoking marijuana?’

“We hardly ever get to the root which creates these thoughts and actions, because that requires work.”

    Article here. Excerpt:

'Business owners at sexdolls.com told Daily Star Online that realistic male sex dolls have surged in popularity.

Women, gay men and couples have been snapping up the life-like toys in a bid to satisfy their fantasies.
    ...
In the future, those who are tired of dating, or who have unfulfilling love lives, may swerve traditional romance in favour of realistic sex toys.

The experts at sexdolls.com add: “Regards ditching relationships, I'm sure that most women would only ditch an unhappy relationship in favour of a sex doll or robot…

“I can't see them replacing men in the bedroom totally, but sex dolls and robots can provide emotional and physical attraction which may work for a lot of lonely women.”'

    Just received:

    Hi Everyone,

I have been getting no end of flak from feminists over my little post last week, which I wrote after watching hours of media stories showing firefighters battling the blaze engulfing so much of our country.

This is what I said: “Our media is full of images of brave men fighting the ferocious fires. As always, it’s usually men who do the really dangerous, difficult work protecting everyone else. Give thanks for the good in men.”

As you can imagine, female commentators everywhere hated my comment. Predictably, The Guardian responded with photos of female firefighters, but somehow failed to mention how many of the 20,000 firefighters involved in the current fires are actually women. I have some firefighters who have written to me who are trying to track down the numbers. Looks like less than 20% of volunteers, and about 5% of professional firefighters. Overwhelmingly male, as expected. Let me know if you can help.

Hilariously, Moira Rayner, the former Victorian equal opportunity commissioner, retweeted my comment with the caption “That’s a woman firefighter,” referring to the photo I used to accompany my tweet. It was “liked” over 600 times.

“I know my topic,” Rayner told BuzzFeed. “Bettina didn’t and her tweet was presumptuous, disrespectful to the specialist and the countless numbers of local community volunteers, and a little bit foolish.”

Well, then a reporter at BuzzFeed, Cameron Wilson, tracked down the firefighter in my photo, who turned out to be male – Dennis Wamsley, a volunteer with the Gloucester Rural Hearth Brigade.

What a hoot! Moira Rayner has been taking regular, very nasty potshots at me. This former “equal opportunity commissioner” has revealed her true colours, demonstrating why her former organization and others like it, have no interest in justice or fair treatment for men.

Exciting interview exposing the truth about our Family Court.

I have a rare interview for you today, with a brave, extraordinarily honest family lawyer from Sydney. I was delighted to discover Ezequiel Trumper, a very experienced lawyer who was willing to tell the truth about what’s going wrong with our Family Court.

In our interview Ezequiel doesn’t hold back. He exposes the way our court system is now weaponized to allow women to use false allegations to destroy men’s relationship with their children. He’s forced to explain to his male clients that they are absolutely up against it. They face a court which won’t enforce its own orders, where parental alienation is rewarded and perjury is rife.

This is a really important interview, particularly in the current climate where so much of mainstream media is pushing the feminist narrative decrying the need for a new inquiry and claiming women never lie.

Here’s the link to the new video –

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpHzCNJxUvE

Please help me do everything possible to get people to see it.

Our mad feminists attract international attention.

Robert Franklin from the US-based National Parents Organization has been writing an excellent series of blogs about the way the Australian feminists are “howling like banshees” over the focus of this new inquiry:

“I’ve read article after article all aimed at the same thing – casting doubt on the latest Australian Governmental review of family law and courts in the Land Down Under. Those who oppose children having full, meaningful relationships with their fathers post-divorce don’t like the new review for the simple reason that they fear the truth may at last come out.”

Franklin points out that the previous review, by the Australian Law Reform Commission, was much more to the feminists liking. He’s written very detailed blogs about what was wrong with that review – here, here and here – and why the women’s groups were so keen on it. Franklin’s forthcoming blog will expose misinformation and distortions included in a dreadful article by Griffith University law lecturer, Zoe Rathus, published recently in The Conversation. Rathus’ title says it all: “Parental alienation: the debunked theory that women lie about violence is still used in court.”

Former WA Law Reform Commissioner, Augusto Zimmerman, has published an excellent Spectator Australia article: How abuse of violence orders corrupts our family law system. Zimmermann points out there is an undeniable correlation between apprehended orders, false claims of domestic violence, and parental alienation. He mentions an analysis of NSW court files, which reveals that these domestic violence cases, on average, are dealt with in less than three minutes – a shocking statistic proving that absolutely no attempt is made to investigate whether such allegations have any validity. For the woman alleging violence the system is fool proof, with no risk at all that her lies will be exposed.

    My team of helpers.

Meanwhile, I have a wonderful team who are assisting with the process of getting good submissions into the Inquiry. We’ve been flooded with people needing help presenting their cases – huge numbers of dads, but also grandparents and other family members who have watched the men in their lives being torn apart by the Family Court process.

My team are all volunteers skilled at pulling together these complex stories into short, compelling narratives – leading hopefully to the committee being presented with concrete examples of the damage being caused by flaws in the current system. We are making sure these submissions receive proper attention.

We will probably need more volunteers to help with this process, so if you have time to spare and think you may be good at this type of work, please contact me.

Comeuppance for Sarah Jane Parkinson’s corrupt boyfriend.

Remember the corrupt policeman boyfriend of Sarah Jane Parkinson, who helped stitch up Dan Jones? (Here’s the video I made about Parkinson, who was imprisoned in January for false rape and violence allegations.)

NSW Snr Constable White, now the imprisoned Parkinson’s husband, will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Dec 18 on perjury and weapons offences. Let’s hope the sleazebag gets his comeuppance.

Meanwhile, the Jones family is awaiting news regarding Parkinson’s application for early release. The decision of the Sentence Administration Board has been adjourned for a second time as Parkinson tries to manipulate the system yet again.

The family is also no closer in their quest for compensation for the over $350k they spent defending Dan from the false allegations. They have another legal team working on that but face further legal fees. Generous folk might like to contribute to the gofundme fund-raiser.

Well, that’s it for today. Cheers, Tina

One of the more memorable talks at ICMI18 was given by Darren Deojee, a Scotsman. Even his entrance into the conference room was memorable. Wearing a kilt, Darren walked through the confreence rooms behind a bagpipe player, surely the most dramatic speaker entrance ever seen at an ICMI. His talk was titled, Positive Masculinity: Standing on the shoulders of giants (video, 44:24). The video includes his dramatic entrance (and exit).

Elizabeth’s latest blog piece on the day – including commentaty on the March 4 Men – is here, and includes a link to the ticket website (only a few tickets remain).

We look forward to seeing you at the walk and the conference.

Today’s essay was inspired by the lead image you see here and the subsequent exchange I had on Twitter about it. What you see here is a rather nebbish looking husband, I presume post-surgery, recovering from his vasectomy in bed. He is surrounded by cutesy post-it note jokes his wife left him (kind of like the notes your mom might put in your school lunch when you were a child) on a plethora of sugary snacks from the pantry.

The number of kids we’ll be having in the future – Zero

    Forgive me if I Snicker

    Sorry your dong got dinged

    Good-bye to your swimmers

    Mini Nonuts

    Your berries got crunched

These are just a few of the ‘jokes’ his wife spent an awful lot of time creating.

Beta men and their wives joking about their vasectomies has become the meme du jour on all the usual social media sites where women congregate to appease their egos, gloss their girlfriends’ and commiserate about their fates of being wives and mothers. Before I dig in here I think I need to point out the utility that social media has evolved to serve in most women’s lives now. There was a time when a woman’s indignation needs could be met by daytime television, talkshows and romance novels when living vicariously through their girlfriends’ lives wasn’t sufficient. Today, women’s innate need for indignation is provided on-tap courtesy of the internet, social media and cutesy-but-insulting images of a husband are almost passé. I know, I’ve discussed this topic on a few podcasts, but it’s becoming increasingly more important for a man to understand what social media is providing to women’s nature and how their relationships are indirectly influenced by the exchanges their wives and girlfriends are having online.

I’ve seen a few of these “I got a vasectomy and my wife thinks it’s funny” social media posts before this one. Creating little post-it note jokes to apply to the snacks in the pantry might seem cute, but why is this even a thing? Why is it women/wives think it’s cute to publicly ridicule their partner about the impotence he elected to have? Amongst the Facebook and Instagram shots of her life, amongst the motivational quote memes, and among the complaints about kids, marriage and domestic life a moment of ridiculing their husband seems par for the course. And it’s all acceptable so long as the context is one of being ‘all in fun’.

Marriage today is a dicey proposition for men. I talk and write a lot about the overwhelmingly high risks of life and livelihood men should consider when it comes to how we do legal marriage in this era. MGTOW or not most men understand that marriage is basically for women now – at least with respect to the legal protections and the win-win incentives that are advertised for women. If all a woman ever did was read about marriage from social media and popular culture one would have to wonder why she would ever want to sign up for a lifetime of dealing with a husband, or the caricatures of average men, at all. The contempt for men, even in the most good natured, humorous, ways is palpable on most social media. It’s entirely acceptable, even expected, to deprecate the foibles of men in marriage. We literally can’t do anything right in a ‘female correct’ online world.

And like the “child-in-a-man’s-body” that women complain about, most of these average husbands are okay with being the butt of the joke. In fact, most are enthusiastic about their self-deprecation because they’ve been conditioned to think that doing so endears them to the women who married them and proves they’re “secure in their masculinity”.

    Can’t you take a joke?

The first thing any woman, and any Beta male, will say is, “C’mon Rollo, it’s all in fun. Imagine being so humorless as not to get this? Who hurt you?” I think there’s an underlying acknowledgement of the passive aggressiveness that inspires this ‘humor’. When a comedian like Dave Chappell throws caution to the wind and does a 90 minute comedy routine that is funny as hell, but attacks the unassailable ‘correctness’ of our present social narrative we laugh along knowing the latent message of the humor. So, what is the latent message of making a man’s (elective) impotency a joke?

Imagine what the outrage would be on social media were you to make ‘cute’ jokes in the same way about your wife’s uterine ablation or tubal ligation. At the very least women wouldn’t think it was funny. No one tells women, “Lighten up. What, are you so insecure in your femininity that you can’t take a joke?” When a woman is rendered infertile it doesn’t occur to anyone to make light of it, but for a man to be neutered – and at the mutual agreement with his wife – we find the hit to his masculinity hilarious. Why is this?

I realize I’m focusing on one incident here in this image posted on r/funny, but this is an example of a larger dynamic. It’s socially acceptable to ridicule the impotency of Beta men. As I detailed in Selective Breeding, women will openly attack men’s genitals as a reflexive response to the possibility that a lesser man might try to fool her Hypergamous filters. A guy getting kicked in the nuts by a woman is always funny.

If women’s existential fear is being tricked into reproducing with a Beta male, then forcing herself to settle on a suboptimal man must inspire an inner conflict in her. There are lots of controversial self-help books published by women on both sides of this conflict. Some argue for women to accept a Beta guy and just make the best of it, others (especially religious books) argue that a woman should never compromise herself and wait for the best man (the ‘soulmate’ husband God has preordained for her) to present himself to her.

In Selective Breeding I made the argument that women’s existential fear is the possibility of having her Hypergamous filter (feminine intuition) fooled by a Beta male and becoming saddled with his shitty genetics for the rest of her life. This is a primal, evolved, fear for women that manifest itself, often unconsciously, in many of women’s behaviors that we either take for granted or we have social conventions that accommodate them. Decidedly gynocentric societies will legally mandate against this existential fear.

But what about women who are already married or pair-bonded with men that their evolved subconscious knows is a suboptimal choice for her? What about women who are trapped in a marriage with a guy that her hindbrain confirms is not the ‘best she can do’? How does that primal fear of being saddled with a faithful Beta manifest itself?

He that has eyes to see and ears to hear may convince himself that no mortal can keep a secret. If his lips are silent, he chatters with his fingertips; betrayal oozes out of him at every pore.

    Sigmund Freud

    Unconscious Contempt

I would argue that women today have never been more comfortable in expressing their contempt of the men they married. My recent essays on Polyamory and the deconstruction of men’s Paternity imperatives have been an exploration of how a feminine-primary social order is reimagining itself with respect to how men and women will come together and form families in the future. People will claim that women’s lack of respect for the masculine is the result of generations of men not living up to some old-school ideal. That might be so, but women have no respect for the masculine, the male experience, simply because they have no need to.

Why do women feel comfortable – to the point of taking it for granted – in expressing contempt for their husbands? We can argue the basis of where this passive-aggressiveness comes from, but why is it okay to veil this contempt in humor?

why do we as a society normalize hating your partner wow i am so bothered this morning pic.twitter.com/gbdcu5Ddmd

    — happy nicksgiving (@nickykens) November 13, 2019

Before I get run up the flagpole for being a humorless boor let me reiterate that I’m not saying men ought to read more into things like this. My point is the bigger picture here; why do we find this funny at all? I believe it’s a form of anxiety release for women who’ve committed to a lifetime of parental investment with a man that her hindbrain knows is less than what she believes is best for her.

These images were pulled from an Instagram account called Motherhood Through Letterboards. What’s interesting about this is the contempt for fathers and husbands that bleeds through what we should probably have a sense of humor about. You can have a look at some of these to get the context, but the latent purpose of this exercise is a release of the anxiety created by women’s pairing and reproducing with men that their hindbrains cannot accept as Alpha.

Again, we talk a lot in the Manosphere about how social media contributes to the gross overinflation of women’s sense of self. It’s easy to see how women overestimate their sexual market value, and then conflate it with their personal value, but there’s more to this than just the woman on OKCupid who thinks she’s a 9 when she’s really a 6. There comes a time when that woman with the overblown sense of self must “settle” on a man who her hindbrain believes isn’t the best she could do. The metric by which she judges what is the best she can do is also subject to this ego-overinflation.

The main reason most women agonize over the question of whether she should “settle” for Mr. Good Enough is rooted in this Hypergamous conflict that usually comes at a time in her life where her SMV and her options with men are decaying. Today, the reason we see the age of first marriage being pushed later and later in life for women is due to women prolonging this indecision. She knows she can do better than the less-exciting Beta who seems like her best option in her Epiphany Phase because she’s had better in her Party Years. She also knows she can do better because social media and a constant steeping in the new Global Sexual Marketplace has convinced her she’s actually a 9, not a 6, and anything less than perfect is a waste of her potential. All of this plays on women’s primal, Existential Fear of pairing with a suboptimal mate choice – for life.

But now she’s committed. She married the only guy who would date her in that phase of her life given her circumstances. She married the Beta in Waiting, who’s overjoyed that he’s finally found his Quality Woman who appreciates his type. He’s thanking God for bringing him a woman who tells him “I’m done with the Jerks” and wants to do the ‘right’ thing now – while her hindbrain is contending with her existential fear becoming reality due to her own necessity. Now add 1-2 children into this mix (his or not) and you get this passive-aggressive manifestation of her existential angst.

Fortunately for her there’s an unending number of women experiencing exactly the same unconscious contempt for the men they married online in dozens of popular social media groups. The desire to “punch him in the face” is always tempered with “love”, humor and platitudes about relationships always being “hard work”.

    End Note: Vasectomies

I feel it’s incumbent upon me to address what will be the predictable binary responses of literalist critics here:

    • No, I’m not saying don’t get a vasectomy.

    • No, I’m also not saying that if you did get a vasectomy you’re a pathetic loser Beta.

I will however point out that when I see stories about how a Beta husband did come to the decision to get a vasectomy there are always a lot of subconscious reasonings that go along with it. For all the notions of egalitarian marriages and self-praise for being rationally evolved above the hindbrain interpretations, on some level of consciousness a man electing to sterilize himself is a confirmation of the value he puts in his masculinity. This is why women think it’s funny to ridicule your impotency. Her hindbrain has 100% confirmation that you know your reproductive viability has no value.

A man’s reasons for getting a vasectomy may be valid and in some ways empowering for him. I imagine there’s at least some confidence to be derived from knowing you wont be held responsible for any “accidental” pregnancies. I get why men would opt for it, but the way a woman’s feral brain interprets a man sterilizing himself is what I’m getting at here. You may think, “Well, I don’t give a damn what women think about it.” Fine. Totally valid, but I’m outlining a woman’s instinctual response to a man permanently preventing his own reproduction. There is a subcommunication underneath this decision that denotes emasculation, and this is what women resent.

In some ways I see wives celebrating their husband’s vasectomy for reasons that have nothing to do with improving their sex lives. In the original Twitter thread I had men tell me that they got a vasectomy at the suggestion of their wives, believing it would lead to greater sexual frequency (or any sex in a sexless marriage) only to admit that it never improved anything for them. So, why the goading to get a vasectomy? The dots I keep connecting are a subconscious desire on the part of women to geld a husband to ensure he never reproduces with other women. It’s almost like a service she’s doing for the Sisterhood. She’s making sure that her mistake never becomes any other woman’s mistake.

    1.

Warum drei Frauen gegen The Brain Jauch antreten?

'In the latest round of filings in the ongoing legal dispute between Lafayette and resident Andrew J. O’Connor, the city is seeking to quash a motion to have Magistrate Judge Kristin L. Mix removed from overseeing O’Connor’s employment discrimination complaint. Meanwhile, Cliff Smedley, a co-plaintiff in O’Connor’s complaint, did not sign off on O’Connor’s latest response, saying he disagreed with the language it uses.

On Oct. 28, O’Connor and Lafayette resident Smedley filed a motion to dismiss Mix for having “misandry, lack of impartiality, personal bias and prejudice” against the men because they are representing themselves in court.

The men also filed a complaint of judicial misconduct or disability, in addition to a request for investigation with the Office of the Circuit Executive and with the Honorable Phillip Brimmer, chief judge of the district court.'

'Over the past decade, only 11 percent of art acquired by America’s top museums for their permanent collections was by women, according to a recent survey.

One museum is now taking a bold step to shift this persistent trend.

Next year, the Baltimore Museum of Art will only acquire works for its permanent collection that are created by women, chief curator Asma Naeem said.

The push is an attempt by the museum to “truly be radical and emphasize to the arts communities that we are taking this initiative quite seriously,” and “re-correcting the canon,” Naeem said.

It’s part of a year-long series of exhibitions and programs focused on female artists, coinciding with the 100th anniversary next year of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which guaranteed women in the United States the right to vote.'

The Pacific Legal Foundation filed a lawsuit Wednesday challenging a new state law that requires California companies to have at least one woman on their board of directors by the end of 2019. The largest California companies will need a total of three female directors by 2022.

In September, California became the first US state to mandate board room gender diversity. About a quarter of the state’s companies don’t have any female directors, and the rest have very few. The law is part of a growing movement to get more women into lucrative positions that have long been held by men.'
